Stefani Allegretti is an interdisciplinary, contemporary, American artist living and working in the Pittsburgh Metro Area. Her work has evolved over time as she has as an artist. Much of her work focuses on the environment, nature, and natural elements in the environment. She is also interested in exploring connections, connections between the natural world and the human body, connections in the environment, the human-to-human connection, and more through the use of various technologies, medias and materials. Through this exploration, much of her work takes aspects such as nature, faith, science, society, and more that might typically be unseen by the human eye and brings these aspects in to the normal visual plane. By seeing these aspects in a new way and with a different perspective, new connections can be made, and an enhanced appreciation or awareness can be achieved. Allegretti uses various mediums including mixed media and a combination of photography, digital imaging, graphic design, and oil painting to create her work. She also experiments with using recycled/repurposed materials in her mixed media work. Her work has appeared in various regional and national exhibitions throughout the United States.
