Stefani A. Allegretti is an interdisciplinary, contemporary artist living and working in the Pittsburgh Metro Area. Her work has evolved over time as she has as an artist. Although Allegretti has been a lifelong artist, her interest in creating evolved considerably while living on Long Beach Island, a tiny barrier island situated off of the coast of New Jersey. It was there that she developed a profound appreciation for the natural beauty of the coastal environment, the environment, the natural world and creation in general, which is reflected in the majority of her work.
Allegretti is also interested in the connection between aspects of nature as they relate to the human body, as seen in NATURE BODY CONNECT, and in exploring the human-to-human connection through the use of various technologies. She uses a variety of mediums including mixed media and a combination of photography, digital imaging and graphic design.
Her work has appeared in various regional and national exhibitions including "Art Meets Science: Is it Art or Is it Science? ", "Feast your Eyes: the art of Food", the “Westmoreland Art Nationals”, “Art All Night” in Pittsburgh, "Loving Your Mother: Farming as if the Earth Matters" a photography exhibition presented at the (PASA) Annual Conference for the Pennsylvania Association of Sustainable Agriculture and more. Allegretti received her formal training at the University of Pittsburgh where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art in 2009. She also holds a Master's Degree of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of North Dakota, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a BA in English from Rutgers University and multiple certificates.
